Three to six times more efficient than photovoltaic (PV) system and twice as effective as Sidney tubes, NTS Solar evacuated tube collectors feature patented, German-engineered, NARVA evacuated tube technology which promises a level of performance, quality, consistency, and installation flexibility unmatched in the industry.

NARVA is one of Germany’s pioneers in the solar field. Based in Brand-Erbisdorf, Germany, NARVA has mastered tubular glass manufacturing and the glass to metal seal for over 40 years. NARVA tubes feature a patent-pending glass-to-metal seal that ensures the consistency and integrity of the vacuum and sets NTS apart from other solar tube manufacturers. The glass used is impact resistant soda lime glass versus borosilicate; soda lime is less brittle and more durable the borosilicate. Anti-reflective coating increase solar energy transmission and fills micro-cracks to assure long life. The tubes have also been engineered with numerous other unique features to deliver the highest level of performance of any solar thermal product on the market. NARVA tubes also use the latest, most efficient, highly conductive copper absorber plates. Attached to the absorber pipe by ultrasonic welding, the copper fin absorber plates feature a multi-layer titanium oxy-nitride (TiNOX’) coating for exceptional absorption efficiency (up to 96%).

NTS’s evacuated tube solar thermal collectors are much more efficient in conditions where the outside temperatures are low and the demands for thermal energy are high. They are particularly well suited for combination systems where hot water, space heating and air conditioning is required. NTS solar collectors provide years of solar hot water.

NTS Solar has two series of products, the Performance Series and the Architecture Series. The NTS Architecture Series (AS/10) Direct Flow Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors, with a 10 tube pre-assembled sleek design, easily integrate into virtually any building. NTS’s Architecture Series are the only assembled tube collector on the market. These collectors have interim SRCC certification and qualify for all tax benefits. It offers the ideal combination of visual appeal, installation flexibility, and efficient performance demanded of today’s environmentally conscious architects, contractors, and homeowners. The NTS Performance Series uses the same tube as the Architecture Series, with a double-sided absorber in the tube, which are field erected and is offered in two variations, direct flow and heat pipe technologies. The Performance Series Direct Flow (PS-DF) is engineered for use in applications where hot water is in constant, high demand reducing the likelihood of collector overheating. Typical applications are commercial, industrial, institutional, and domestic hot water process. The Performance Series Heat Pipe (PS-HP) is designed for use in applications where water use is moderate and intermittent. Typical applications are domestic hot water and residential. The heat pipe tube will limit its output temperature 320°F (160°C).
